Application & Interview Process

This is an example of our entire application and interview process. However, the stages and steps will vary based on the type of position. Some positions may not require all the steps mentioned.

Information on our process and tips to help you get noticed:


Read the job description thoroughly. Apply to the position that interests you and that you have skills and experience that match the job description. Consider how your qualification would make an impact in that position.


Design your resume to represent your achievements and experiences:

  • Provide specific information in regards to your daily responsibilities, project work and success metrics of accomplishments.

  • For individuals who have limited work experience, provide examples of projects or volunteer work that illustrates the knowledge you gained, and the impact you made.

  • Make sure your resume and cover letter are without errors and dates of previous employment are accurate. Proofreading your resume and cover letter are key!



Our internal acquisition team reviews every application - these individuals specialize in routing qualified candidates through our process. If there seems to be a good match you will be scheduled for a 30-minute phone conversation to learn more about your background, your ideal role, and to give you a chance to learn more about Glavinsured Agency.


Your candidacy is very important to us, and we are excited that you have expressed interest in our agency. Although we would love to connect with each candidate, the volume of application we receive limits our ability to speak with every candidate.


If we cannot connect at this time, no worries. Glavinsured uses an applicant tracking system that retains your information. Please do not hesitate to apply again if you see another role that you have matching qualifications and interests.



Once we have reviewed your resume and application, we may want to learn more about you directly. We will schedule a 30-minute phone conversation to ask you questions about your career progression, and what interests you about the position at Glavinsured.


Here are a few tips to help you prepare:


  • Be sure the space where you take the call is quiet and has a clear connection.

  • Have your resume in front of you and refer to it if necessary.

  • Make a list of any questions you may have about the position or about Glavinsured Agency.



Here you go! If you are selected to move to the next step in the process we will schedule a phone interview. The phone interview is approximately 60-minutes and consists of mainly behavior and situational questions that help us to get to know you better.



You are doing great! Once you have completed the phone interview your candidacy will be reviewed and you may be selected for an in-person interview. This interview will be conducted in our office and will consist of questions that pertain to your past experience. You will be requested to provide examples of experience, how you might handle situations and functional skill & competencies necessary for the position. This will provide you the opportunity to present your unique personality and highlight your strengths.


  • Bring a copy of your resume.

  • Glavinsured is a professional business casual work environment and as such, wear this type of attire for your interview.

  • Map out the time and distance to Glavinsured and be prompt for your interview.

  • Get to know Glavinsured Agency, check out our website!

  • Be ready to shine and communicate what makes you a unique individual, and how you will align with our core values and mission.



Culture is important to us. We want you to feel comfortable if you are selected for the position as much as we value the opinion of our team. This step in the process will bring you back to our office (or offsite) to have some refreshments and a simple snack or meal with all of the team you would be working with. This provides the space and time to get to know who you would be working with in a more informal setting.



The final step in the process is to conduct validation calls with your references. We will ask that you provide us professional references, which would consist of former supervisors, direct reports, and coworkers.



If selected for the position you will receive a phone call and verbal offer from your potential supervisor. At this time you would talk through an employment offer, or benefits package, and any other details necessary for you to make an informal decision. This conversation will be followed by a formal offer letter of employment through our application system. Once we receive your signed offer letter we will begin our onboarding process and alert the team!



We are so excited to assist you with onboarding! Before your first day, you will receive an electronic new hire packet that will include many important documents. These documents are tracked and completed easily within our onboarding system. During this time we may request a background check and/or drug test which will be essential for your employment with our agency.


Don’t worry if you have questions, orientation will be a great time to ask any questions or complete any withstanding onboarding documents. Our acquisition team will help you every step of the way.
